ROMA AGREE FEE WITH CHELSEA FOR ENGLAND STRIKER

The imminent arrival of striker Romelu Lukaku at Chelsea is a clear indication that there has to be a reshuffling of the Blues squad. As a result, the London club are expected to let go of E gland international striker Tammy Abraham, who has been attracting a lot of interest from several clubs his summer. Abraham has been linked with moves to Arsenal, Lazio, Aston Villa, and AS Roma in the past but it’s currently looking like Roma have stolen the march ahead of their fellow suitors in agreeing a fee with Chelsea for the transfer of the striker in this summer’s transfer window.

The search for a striker by Chelsea this summer sent a strong signal to Abraham that he would be leaving the club and that he should start looking for his next destination where he will play his football this season and it looks like he has gotten himself the perfect club to sign for. He was said to be leaving Stamford Bridge for Villa Park this summer to sign for Aston Villa where he had a great stint some years ago as he scored a lot of goals for Dean Smith’s side on their way to earning a Premier League return.

Rio Ferdinand urges Manchester United to start Marcus Rashford regularly

Manchester legend-turned-pundit Rio Ferdinand believes the Red Devils should start Marcus Rashford on a regular basis, if they are to get the best out of his abilities. The 21-year-old has been in-and-out of the starting XI for the Red Devils during the opening campaign but he has nevertheless scored vital goals including the winner at Bournemouth on Saturday.

Speaking after that game, Ferdinand highlighted that Rashford has the potential to become a world-beater but needs to be nurtured on the right path with regular gametime, he told BT Sport: “Marcus Rashford is a great talent who needs to be nurtured. Arsenal legend defends Romelu Lukaku amid the recent goalscoring drought

Arsenal legend-turned-pundit Paul Merson has backed Romelu Lukaku to come good for Manchester United despite his recent goal drought. The Belgium international started the season in a good note with four goals coming in no time but he has since gone through a run of eight matches across all competitions for United without scoring.

As such, there has been plenty of criticism labelled towards the former Everton man but Merson feels the blame should be put on the players behind him who have not created enough, he told Sky Sports: “Lukaku went to Manchester United to score bundles of goals and get bundles of chances. He’s playing in a team at the moment, up front, on his own, that are playing like a bottom-half team… a relegation team. He should be getting seven chances a game at Old Trafford. Does he trust the players he’s playing with?”
