VIDAL IS KEY

Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal has become a key member of the team in the last few years. The 26-year-old has been linked with a move to Real Madrid in the last few weeks, while he has also stated that the Spanish club will remain as the only destination if he decides to leave Juventus. The Italian club are prepared to offer him a new deal in order to prevent any interest from Madrid escalating into a serious offer. Vidal has been a Juventus player since 2011 after his move from Bayer Leverkusen. The South American is a box-to-box midfielder, who has been vital in the last two title winning seasons for Juventus.

Barcelona and Bayern Munich are also reportedly keeping tabs on the situation. Juventus chief executive officer Beppe Marotta has said that the club will be offering the player a new contract, which he is expected to sign in the next few weeks. He has called for patience from the fans during the negotiation part. He has also praised the signing of Fernando Llorente, who has been an indispensable member of the first-team in the last few weeks. He has formed an excellent partnership with Carlos Tevez after initially struggling for playing time at Turin.

“Vidal’s renewal will arrive. It’s enough waiting – there aren’t problems. There is only the need for patience,” said Marotta about Vidal’s new contract. “His arrival as a free agent has been a big opportunity we got from the market. Conte worked with him, and Fernando applied himself, being able to become an important asset for us,” continued the Chief Executive officer about Fernando Llorente.

He was signed on a free transfer from Athletic Bilbao. Juventus are second in the table just a few points behind Roma, who have made a sensational start to the season.
