Mikel Arteta says he can get the best out of Mesut Ozil

Newly-appointed Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta believes he can get the best out of midfielder Mesut Ozil. Speaking in his first press conference, Arteta acknowledged that Ozil remains a massive player at the north London side and he will hold a personal meeting with the German to understand his concerns. He added that he wants to have an impact on and off the playing field and it’s his duty to get the best out of the former Germany international.

David Luiz heaps praise on the mentality of Gabriel Martinelli

Arsenal defender David Luiz has heaped praise on the mentality of Gabriel Martinelli, who has made a strong impression since his summer move to the club. The 18-year-old was a relatively unknown when he was signed from Ituano during the summer but he has quickly made an impact with seven goals across all competitions.

Speaking to 90min, Luiz said that Martinelli has a great mentality and his compatriot has the chance to progress into a top quality player for the Gunners, he told: “I’m not going to say who is the best talent, but the best mentality at the moment is Martinelli. He has a great mentality, it is special, he is a top guy, a top player, but what really impresses me is his mentality on the training ground, and the way he reacts to scoring goals, like at Anfield, and how he continues to work with a great mentality. He is taking his opportunity step by step and he has the same focus, determination and respect for everything and he is so mature for his age.”

Harris believes Chelsea fans may not be patient with Lampard

Former Chelsea defender Ron Harris has said that the Blues supporters may not be patient with Frank Lampard’s young revolution at Stamford Bridge, should things move in the wrong way. The west London side have lost the services of Eden Hazard and manager Maurizio Sarri in the space of a few days and this combined with a two window transfer embargo has put them under some jeopardy.

Speaking on Love Sport Radio, Harris said that the Blues have rarely remained patient with top-class head coaches and a number of managers have barely lasted a couple of seasons. He added that Lampard may be afforded more time with the ban at the moment but it remains to be seen whether the fans support him, should things not go in the right direction.
